Helping communities towards net zero
Future Isle of Wight has an ambitious goal: To preserve the environment of our beautiful island for future generations whilst improving the everyday lives of the people who live and work here.

Our purpose
We’re a community interest company helping local businesses, community groups, and residents reduce their costs and carbon footprints.
Our primary expertise is the built environment. We use a mixture of outreach, education and direct action to bring about change through retrofit projects.
Future Isle of Wight’s work also covers the commercial sector and transport electrification. Going forward, we will include food, water, and waste management projects.
- We use regenerative, sustainable, and environmentally aware strategies and technologies.
- We help signpost Islanders towards organisations who can actively reduce their utility costs and CO2 emissions.
- We offer education and support to help individuals and businesses achieve net zero by 2040.
- As a partner of the DriVe2X project, we’re accelerating the uptake of vehicle electrification through new bi-directional smart charging technologies.
- Our annual retrofit and technology expo hosts international manufacturers and Innovate UK masterclasses.
What you should know about us

A community interest company
As a community interest company, our objectives, profits, and capital growth must be used to benefit the Isle of Wight.
We also know that many of the solutions that work across the water aren’t always a good fit for our rural communities.

Practical, common sense solutions
Our backgrounds include the built environment, sustainable energy, communications, EV technology and digital media.
We’re results-driven, motivated and have a keen understanding about the challenges of living and doing business on the Island.
