Future Isle of Wight Sustainability & Innovation Fair

Join us on Wednesday 5 August 2026 at the historic Isle of Wight Steam Railway in Havenstreet for the Island’s most exciting new event focused on sustainability, innovation and real-world solutions.

The Future Isle of Wight Sustainability & Innovation Fair brings together local experts, suppliers and community organisations to showcase the technologies, ideas and support available to help the Island move toward a more energy-efficient future.

Rather than a traditional exhibition, the Fair is designed as an interactive experience where visitors can explore solutions, ask questions, and learn how to make practical improvements to their homes or businesses.

Throughout the day you’ll be able to explore a wide range of technologies and solutions designed to help cut energy use and reduce costs.

The Fair is designed for anyone interested in saving energy and improving their property, including:

  • Landlords considering property upgrades
  • Local businesses exploring energy efficiency
  • Community groups and local decision-makers

Technologies on display

  • Home insulation and energy-efficient building upgrades
  • Solar panels, battery storage and renewable energy systems

Daikin is the world’s largest manufacturer of heat pumps and air conditioning systems, operating in over 170 countries. Committed to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, Daikin is helping households move away from fossil-fuel heating: the total global warming impact of its heat pumps is nearly eight times lower than that of a gas boiler. The company features on the CDP Climate Change A List for environmental leadership and transparency.

Ridge Clean Energy is the developer of Sunny Oaks Renewable Energy Park near Wootton Common. The project will generate enough electricity to power around 5,677 local homes and includes plans for biodiversity enhancement through wildflower meadows and species-rich grasslands. A community benefit fund will be available throughout its 40-year operational lifetime, and the land restored for agricultural use after decommissioning, with improved soil carbon content.
