Transforming homes
Transforming lives
Future Isle of Wight is a community interest company helping residents stay warm and save money by improving the energy efficiency of their homes.

Straightforward, impartial advice and support
We offer practical, easy-to-understand guidance on home energy-saving measures and how they’re applied, and work alongside certified contractors to upgrade Island homes for free.

Energy and insulation advice
Our volunteer retrofit experts share their knowledge online, and with anyone visiting our Newport office or phoning our dedicated call centre.

Home surveys and EPCs
We help home and business owners identify energy efficiency and carbon footprint improvements. We also issue Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).

Free home upgrade grants
We assist residents applying for insulation, heating and solar panel grants. We also oversee the work, liaising with PAS-certified installers.
“I have nothing but good things to say about my experience and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the service. There’s no doubt it will keep the house warmer and reduce the electric bills.”

Jon, ECO4 grant customer from Chale.
Building a low-carbon future free from fuel poverty
Future Isle of Wight acts as a practical demonstrator of energy efficiency measures and grant funding eligibility. By strengthening the local energy sector, we’re empowering communities and positively impacting health and wellbeing.

Outreach and events
As well as hosting our popular retrofit and technology expo, we regularly visit Island venues to give guidance on energy savings and accessing grant funding.

Research and innovation
Alongside the Isle of Wight Council and Innovate UK, our research is helping to uncover potential barriers and challenges to achieving net-carbon zero by 2040.

Retrofit hub
By partnering with PAS-certified installers and building the capacity of local supply chains, we’re ensuring more communities benefit from retrofit grant-funding.

Bi-directional EV charging
We’re a partner of the DriVe2X project, which aims to accelerate vehicle electrification through the research and development of bi-directional smart charging.
